  • Responsibilities

    This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Media and Composition and is part of the Media Composition group. This position will modify and maintain items and passages for item test development teams while adhering and implementing style and client specification for various projects. This position will work within the established processes currently in IDEAS (DRC’s proprietary item bank). Help standardize and implement unique format changes to passages and items through XML process instructions, and format items and passages for online presentation.

      

     

    Position Responsibilities:

     

    • Execute, maintain and monitor all items and passages within IDEAS
    • Utilize XML process instruction code for print layouts
    • Create tech enhanced items (i.e. bubble input, drag and drop, hotspot, click to respond, layered input, etc.) for on-line presentation in INSIGHT
    • Understand CSS for online development
    • Use IDEAS, and its related tools to maintain process efficiencies
    • Follow and support adopted software development methodologies
    • Identify formatting issues within IDEAS
    • Collaborate effectively with other production teams and business units
    • Provide support in troubleshooting technical/formatting issues in IDEAS.

     

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Associate or Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in publishing technology; related field or relevant professional experience
    • Minimum of two years relevant professional experience in an office/business environment
    • Working knowledge of various data base systems
    • Knowledge of layout, typography, and overall composition and/or publication style
    • Problem-solving skills required
    • Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and direction required
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly to diverse groups of people
    • Strong attention to detail

    Reporting to this position:  No direct reports

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hour periods of time
    • Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day
    • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as necessary
