Responsibilities:

 The purpose of this position is to develop and implement a successful sales and marketing strategy which increases DRC’s revenue and presence in the federal marketplace.

  • Directs, establishes, maintains, and plans the overall business development of the federal business for DRC Survey Services
  • Provides leadership and action to ensure our federal revenue goals are achieved which includes direct sales responsibilities, building the sales pipeline, identifying potential business partners, and developing relationships within the Public Sector
  • Design and implement strategic and tactical sales plan in the federal marketplace
  • Coordinate and provide input with the research & development, marketing and/or sales groups
  • Identify key prospects and meet annual sales targets
  • Develop key relationships with federal agencies, government contractors and other potential business partners to increase sales
  • Identify and leverage DRC relationships and capabilities which can benefit sales in the federal market
  • Responsible for delivery of the revenue goals for the federal business and identify additional necessary resources as the business grows
  • Responsible for development of the strategic federal marketing and business plans
  • Lead decision making regarding the appropriateness and timing of opening a DRC federal office
  • Represent DRC to customers and professional organizations
  • As appropriate, hire, train and evaluate motivated and successful sales representatives
  • Stay abreast of trends, changes, opportunities within the federal marketplace, advising DRC senior management as appropriate

 



Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 8-10 years successful sales experience in the federal government marketplace
  • Success selling a consultative service to the federal government with prior experience in data collection preferred. Experience in market research highly desirable
  • Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment is critical, including coordinating internal services to deliver commitments
  • In depth knowledge of the federal marketplace, including sales cycle, appropriate contact levels, procurement processes, agency funding and priorities, etc
  • Experience closing sales valued in excess of $100,000
  • Excellent influence and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20+%
  • Experience selling at the Director level and above
  • Experience selling to high levels within the commercial marketplace desirable
